"MORE Than One Website Per Company!?!"
-by
Andrew Greenstein, self-made multimillionaire
Most "legitimate" companies tend
to create only one website to represent their products and/or
services. Those that have many sites are often regarded as
"spammers" and sometimes even blacklisted from major search
engines. That makes sense because companies with multiple sites
typically just create mirrored (or mostly mirrored) carbon
copies of themselves. Search engines view this behavior as
contradictory to providing their end users with a good,
content-rich web surfing experience. In contrast, I have experienced that there
is a legitimate way, to have MULTIPLE websites for one
COMPANY...and there are some VERY GOOD and VERY LUCRATIVE
reasons to do it:
In the world of
OFFline marketing, major corporations like Coca-Cola,
McDonald's, and Geico, certainly don't have just ONE
magazine ad or just ONE television commercial. Actually,
they have a multitude of different campaigns. I
endorse a similar strategy when it comes to business
promotion through websites.
Let's say
you are going to create a company that sells information
about training pets via the Internet. You've written
several informationals and you have them for sale on
your site. You've optimized your pages, gotten people to
link to you, applied my other proprietary tactics (that
I can't tell you about until you take the course because
they are SO unique!)...and now sales orders are
beginning to come in...Understand that whenever someone
buys from you, they are likely visiting a number of
competitor sites first. If you have 9 competitors with
similar offers, you have a 1 in 10 chance that the
consumer will make their purchase at YOUR site. The
search results might look something like this:
Competitor
Your Site
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
Competitor
---BUT when you create MORE
unique sites in the same industry, now the searcher's
choice may look more like:
Search Results:
Competitor
You
Competitor
You
You
Competitor
Competitor
You
Competitor
You
Now you have a FIFTY percent
chance that the purchase will be at YOUR site and...what
if you add even MORE sites?
(*SEO and appearing high enough
in listings to make this possible will, of course, be
discussed in the course---but even if you DIDN'T
optimize your sites to appear high in the rankings, the
mere existence of more sites/pages increases the number
of people finding YOU in some form---instead of finding
your
competition. In fact, it also increases the amount of
natural language you're putting out on the 'net. A
lot of people get too hung up on "being #1" on a certain
keyword or key phrase. They may spend months or years
achieving a top 10 ranking on Google whenever someone
searches for "Pet food" but what happens when someone
types in a more natural search like "Different kinds of
food for pet Chihuahuas" ?!?-- The search results
change completely! The more specific content you have
out there in more varied forms, the more likely it is
that ONE [or more] of your sites will come up SOMEWHERE
in the search results regardless of what variation of
your product/service is searched for! -- Can you handle
THAT with just one site? Sure! I encourage sites with
lots of content-rich pages but if you add MORE sites
with MORE subtopics and they ALL have content-rich
pages, EVEN BETTER...and...as we'll discuss in the 12
week class, it is EASY to find CHEAP "starving" writers
online to create hundreds of pages of unique content for
you while you sit back and do "more important things."
Or, of course, you can get busy and write them
yourself!)
So....
at this point you may be wondering: "But if I make
multiple websites, aren't I just competing with myself?"
Not if you do it the way I will teach you in one of our
sessions that focuses on unique Internet marketing of
your business; For one thing, every site you create is
going to have a different look, different wording-- the
money is just going to wind up in the same bank
account at the end (yours!). This is analogous to my
example of offline companies creating multiple flyers,
magazine ads, or TV/radio commercials. You are a)
appealing to different TASTES (some people prefer blue
sites, some prefer red sites, etc;) and b) you are
statistically increasing the likelihood that when they
are done making a purchase and ready to buy, they will
be on one of YOUR sites. One of the companies I
presently own is a resume writing service---but it has
MANY websites like
ResumesGuaranteed.Com,
Resume-Perfection.Com,
Resume-Crafters.Com,
and more. EACH of these sites receives traffic, sales,
and decreases the likelihood of my clients purchasing
from my competitors.
Another way to create a number
of sites is to divide sites into subtopics. Let's say,
for example, you're still selling information on pet
training. Your main/first site might have all of your
different informationals for all different kinds of pets
but THEN, why not create one site specifically for
training Chihuahuas? Why not create one site dedicated
specifically to training cats? The list goes on and on.
If you do this legitimately and actually create unique
content, the search engines will FAVOR it! Since your
sites will be more targeted, you'll also more than
likely experience a higher conversion rate (meaning, the
percentage of people who make PURCHASES from your site
after browsing it). Let's go back to my resume company,
in addition to the variations I showed you previously, I
also created MANY related "subtopic" websites like
Sales-Resumes.Com,
Federal-Resumes.Us,
Exec-Resumes.Com,
and dozens more. Each one not only keeps people going
from my site to my site to my site...(well, you get the
picture)--but also improves the CONVERSION rate; I get
more "buys" per click on a topic-specific site than I
would on an equivalent non-specific site like
resumesguaranteed.com
(though the latter still serves an important marketing
purpose as well).
You can even launch your
secondary/subtopic sites on the pay-per-click engines
and have multiple listings (and you WON'T just
ultimately pay more per click/conversion--I'll explain
why in the course!). Those of you who have some Internet
marketing background are still probably wondering "OK,
but it's still self-competition? Wont I get banned or in
trouble? NO! Again, not if you do it legitimately, how I
show you. After all, 3 competitors are all allowed to
have one site each and compete, right? So I say create a
successful site and then recreate it all over
again...and again..and again. Each time you do it,
create it a new way-- make it a truly unique,
content-rich, high-value site. If Jo Blo is allowed to
create one tomorrow and compete with you, then
legitimately become Jo Blo. In the 12 week Prosperity
In Your Pajamas course, this'll be one of the
zillions of things I show you how to do effectively.
Obviously, there's a lot more
to it and, if you're new to these concepts, it may even
seem overwhelming. No worries! During our 12 week
course, I will discuss easy, low-cost (even virtually
no-cost!) ways to create numerous sites at a quick pace
and to avoid "competing with yourself." Together, we
will make this strategy second nature to you!
